The MOSTA DOME project is a project that we were very proud to be involved in. The project was  managed by Ing. Oliver Pace from our sister company Brighter Solutions. Brighter Solutions provided the luminaires and poles while Astral provided the Lighting Controls expertise.

It was also a great experience for our team to once again collaborate with the renowned Lighting Designer Franck Franjou and help him deliver his vision for such an iconic landmark in Malta.

The project consisted of various areas including

• Garden at the back of the church
• Car Park Lighting
• Architectural lighting of dome highlighting the size and architecture of the building
• Dome step lighting
• General wash of all the church

Every light fitting (including the piazza/car park) can be controlled individually via an intelligent lighting network through an advanced DALI & DMX control system from Pharos. Pharos is the leader in dynamic light control systems providing the controls for the most demanding and iconic installations all over the world. The lighting can not only be dimmed at various intensities but the colour temperature of the light fittings can also be controlled down to 2200K. For the flood lighting an RGBA solution was adopted. This particular type of fitting is being used to highlight the sunset of the dome on the east side (Mdina Side).  A similar concept was adopted for the installation of the Carmelite Church Dome in Valletta.
